Key points of Media Literacy (Sweden 2019)

Start-up meeting of teachers in the Fake News project

An introductory meeting of the project teams took place in Sweden, at the partner school in Stenungsund, between 10th and 15th November 2019. At least two representatives of the partner schools and the entire Nösnäsgymnasiet project team attended workshops prepared by the host school team in collaboration with project manager. We spent some time getting to know each other and cultural and historical trips to the surrounding area and to the nearby metropolis of Gothenburg. In the workshops, we dealt with the presentation of the project, the choice of logo, slogan and poster, we presented local partners with whom individual schools will cooperate. We have devoted some time to extensive research, which we will carry out during the project. We set dates for the next meetings and talked about accommodation options around the schools. We divided the tasks regarding the website, the presence on the eTwinning portal and the e-zine. Jack Werner, a Swedish investigative journalist, introduced us to the media’s attitude towards fake news. Librarian Ulrika Wahlström showed us how to prepare students to be able to recognize fake news in a few easy steps. The intensive work meeting left a good impression on all participants, as it also offered plenty of opportunities for exchange of views and interculturality.

Here are the logos, chosen by particular country, to compete for the logo of the project. Unfortunately, it came out that two of them are only copies of other logos, so in the end we decided not to have a specific logo of the project.
